My clients do not decide to cooperate with me based on my prior projects or clientele, but because I can specifically help them. This is my intentional decision, which coincides with the path I want to develop along in the coming year. There are markets where you just have to have references. I myself would not contact an architect without seeing the houses that were built based on his or her projects. The real problem is that a lot of brands have as rigid an attitude towards references as they do towards business cards or, for example, towards websites. They just have it, and why shouldn’t they? Everybody does! I try to make clients think of how their business cards, references or websites can really push their brands in the specified direction. Thus we often create solutions that are very surprising (for the client).
